White Pine Bonsai Trees

If you are just starting out with bonsai trees you probably want a tree that is easy to nurture so you will not have a difficult time. White pines are a good choice because they require little effort in keeping or maintaining. Another good thing about this white pine bonsai tree is that it tends to look straight, which is nice. Unlike other trees, the white pine bonsai tree usually lives longer. You just have to make sure that you do simple procedures like pruning when it is time to do so and repotting once the white pine bonsai tree has outgrown its pot.

Usually, pine trees can grow as tall as 50 feet in height when they are in the forest. Contrary to the belief of many, bonsai trees are not naturally small. They could grow to the same size as other pine trees. They are just being pruned and shaped accordingly so as they will look like miniature trees.

Moreover, the needles of the white pine bonsai tree are amazingly blue in color. Also, they tend to group together to form a bud. In addition to that, the branches of the white pine bonsai tree grow in a circular form. When you are looking down upon the white pine bonsai tree, you can see that the branches look like tiers.

New growth on your white pine bonsai tree makes the tree appear healthier and brighter. Also, as the needles grow longer, they give emphasis to the white pine bonsai tree. From time to time, cut back the new growth in order to manage the features of the white pine bonsai tree. You should wait until fall to repot your white pine bonsai tree. If you do this during summer, the white pine bonsai trees have the tendency to die because of failure to adapt to their new environment.

Furthermore, you should make it a point not to over water your white pine bonsai tree for this will certainly cause it to die. For the potting soil, it is best that you combine sand, peat, and soil for best result. Also, trim the roots back one half an inch when you are repotting for it would be perfect time to do so.

When you notice that your white pine bonsai tree is losing needles, it might not be a cause for concern if it is summer since it is normal for them to do so at this time. The hot weather can cause the needles to dry up and fall off. On the other hand, if your white pine bonsai trees are growing dark needles which fall off then your white pine bonsai trees might have a disease which needs to be treated.

If you do notice some pests and bugs around your white pine bonsai tree, get rid of them by spraying diluted dishwashing soap on the tree. Then rinse the soap off with clean water the next morning. Another tip to consider is to water the white pine bonsai tree every other day so the excess water has plenty of time to drain off. Also, you should expect your white pine bonsai tree to have a rapid growth spurt each fall.
