Taking Good Care Of Your Bonsai Tree

Every tree needs the proper amount of nutrients in order to survive. Through the soil and the water that bonsai trees absorb, they are filled with life giving energy. Also, the roots are a vital part of a bonsai tree for they serve as the lifeline for nutrients. It is really amazing to watch how bonsai trees manage to grow and develop over time with the proper care and pruning.

It is not enough that you put a bonsai tree in a pot and expect it to thrive on its own. You need to attend to it and give it the care that it needs to thrive. One of these needs is water. Water your bonsai tree daily but making sure as well not to overdo it. Since a bonsai tree is a living thing, it needs the proper amount of vitamins and nutrients so it will live longer. These should be part of your bonsai tree's special diet: a mixture of potassium, phosphates and nitrogen. More often than not, it is a good idea to spray water on the leaves of your bonsai tree. This will help ensure that the leaves will not dry out. In order to prevent this, you have to keep a watchful eye on your tree.

In addition to that, you can use fertilizer pills or tablets in order to provide the nutrients that your bonsai tree needs. The pills should be placed into the soil so the water will dilute them and in no time the roots will absorb the nutrients. However, you should not just purchase and use any type of fertilizer without first considering the age, size, and type of your bonsai tree.

Prior to deciding about the type of fertilizer to buy, there are things to be considered carefully first if you want the best for your bonsai tree. Also, you should make a note every time you repot your bonsai tree. This is a very important factor as well in determining when to provide nutrients to your tree. In case you want to experiment with various combinations and types of fertilizers, just remember to use small doses and work your way up so you don't cause your bonsai tree to wither and die. Every 2 to 4 weeks, make it a point to feed your bonsai tree. If you want you can even mark it on your calendar so you will not forget it. Also, your bonsai tree needs direct sunlight as well.

Prune and trim your bonsai tree as often as needed so as you will be sure that it will look beautiful and healthy. Furthermore, you should repot every 1 to 2 years in order to let your bonsai tree grow comfortably. Prevent pests from destroying your bonsai tree as well by using sprays that are proven effective.
